My enthusiasm for melting metal began through the curiosity of my four children. They threw an empty pop can in our backyard fire pit to "see what would happen." They found the next day, digging through the ashes, the aluminum glob remains from the can. It was their oohs and ahs and all the questions that followed that inspired me to become a smelting and casting hobbyist.
