Maker Faire Bay Area 2023

Useful Circuits for projects that require simple logic

Home: California, United States

Explore electrical engineering with simple logic circuits - When a project requires simple logic, sometimes a microprocessor can be overkill. This workshop will discuss 4 simple circuits to explore that also provide a hands-on interactive exploration of some key components and concepts in electrical engineering. This is a hands-on workshop that will have pre-soldered examples of the circuits that are also being used in the Maker coins available in the Maker Faire.

Diego Fonstad

Diego Fonstad is a lifelong maker, who founded Imagination Supply Co, makers of Lectrify, in 2014 to address what he felt was an unmet need in hands-on products for K-12 electronics, engineering and coding. Lectrify products are built modeling the design thinking process through a close interaction with teachers throughout development (and after). Lectrify products are manufactured in California and use many maker space tools (3d printed, laser cutters, mills) in the prototype and production process to enable nimble responsive product development. The common thread in Diego’s eclectic background has been using the principles of the design thinking process to leverage novel technologies to solve problems. He has worked in management consulting, as director of an Internet product development team, co-founder of a biotechnology company (STRO), Director of the Castilleja Bourn Lab (makerspace) then Resident tinkerer. Diego has an AB from Harvard and an MBA from Stanford.
