Tufting is a textile process where yarn is inserted through a backing fabric to create a pile or looped surface. It‘s a method commonly used to make rugs, carpets, and even some types of clothing. The process involves using a tufting gun to push the yarn through the backing, creating either a cut pile (where the loops are cut) or a loop pile (where the loops remain uncut.) The project/demo would be a hands on experience for people to use a tufting gun and get a general sense of the process‘s.

Real Robot One (RR1) z FIT ČVUT: plně funkční 3D tištěná 6-osá robotická paže

Real Robot One, neboli RR1 je plně funkční 6-osá robotická paže, které můžete bez obav provozovat na svém stole doma, v kanceláři, ve škole nebo v laboratoři. Jedná se už o druhou verzi (revision 2). Na rozdíl od obřích průmyslových robotických ramen, která známe například z Muskových gigatováren, je RR1 koncipován jako bezpečný kolaborativní robot. To znamená, že nemusí být v kleci a může přijít do přímého kontaktu s uživatelem. Nabízí otevřený systém, a to jak softwarově, tak hardwarově. Zároveň je RR1 něco víc než robotická hračka. Ostatně 15 kg robotické váhy si s nějakými úkoly už dokáže poradit. Přijďte se o tom přesvědčit osobně. Autor RR1, prof. Pavel Surynek, je počítačový vědec se zájmem o umělou inteligenci a robotiku. Na FIT ČVUT v Praze vede Laboratoř robotických agentů (RoboAgeLab). Fascinuje ho vytvářet nové teorie, které ukazují, jak robotům dát autonomii, tj. samostatné myšlení a řízení. Baví ho přenášet tyto teorie do fyzické reality prostřednictvím skutečných robotů. Vystudoval MFF UK a poté působil v různých výzkumných centrech umělé inteligence v Japonsku, kde se to roboty jenom hemží, což ho ovlivnilo natolik, že roboty začal sám navrhovat.

With volunteers and radio amateurs, new features are being designed, such as sending images via radio/SSTV, 3D printing of nest boxes and feeders, the use of LoRa Wi-Fi to send image data, and the introduction of AI for species recognition.

Social Networking Project

The Social Networking Project consists of glass sculpture pieces created through live demonstrations, fostering community collaboration and meaningful connections. Using flameworking techniques with borosilicate rods, I begin by establishing a sturdy base structure. Precut glass rods of various sizes and lengths are made available to participants, who, after signing a safety waiver, can choose a piece to contribute. Wearing safety glasses, participants are invited to position their chosen rods on the structure as they see fit. I then carefully fuse the glass rods to the base, with each participant contributing within approximately three minutes. During this interactive art-making experience, I engage with the community, learning their names, discussing their familiarity with glass or art, and sharing in the joy they experience by contributing to this collective artwork. Upon completion, I offer to capture a Polaroid picture of each participant next to the finished piece, documenting
